This one is going to actually have a lot of text. It was an absolutely amazing day, even though only part of it was actually shooting. We drove to and from St. Augustine together, having absolutely wonderful conversation, and then enjoyed dinner together after shooting at the beach.

When we got to St. Augustine, we first went to the restaurant where Edgar had proposed to Lisa, Opus 39. They weren’t open yet but graciously allowed us in. There was an awesome wine room in the back where we took some awesome images. Their decor and menu look absolutely fantastic, I may have to stop in there next time I’m in St. Augustine. :)

Afterwards, we thought it would be totally adorable to eat some ice cream going down St. George street.  They changed into bright outfits and I tried not to run into children and babies while walking backwards and taking photographs of them.

I got a little disoriented and we had to sit down to finish the ice cream.  :)

We had planned to go to the Lighthouse where they had also gone the day they were engaged but there was a pretty large storm with Severe warnings that came in… welcome to Florida!  We tried to talk them into letting us up yet they informed us that 230 steps of metal on the highest ground in the area meant they got hit a lot so we had to give up and head to our next planned stop: the beach!  Turns out the storm was PERFECT and had given the sky and sand a serene feel.  The sand was flat and reflective… amazing.

Before dropping off their order, I just HAD to snap a few images of Tracey and Matt’s “Thank You” cards when they came in a week or so ago.  The cardstock is a semi-gloss pearl, which has an off-white pearlescent sheen to it.  They catch the light just perfectly!

On the inside, we left room for them to either sign it or write a small note if they wanted to.  This image really shows the pearlescent qualities– you can see it in the texture of the paper– the paper is actually semi-gloss with a smooth finish, but the pearl look gives it a multifaceted appearance that is just stunning.

July 10, 2009

Yes, that’s right.  Her name is Dream.  You’ll see why.  :)  That’s all I’m going to say because this is still kinda secret with the wedding coming up.  Shhh!

Brittany and Ryan are some of my most personable clients– it was thoroughly enjoyable to hang out with Brittany and her puppies for a while waiting for Ryan to finish up, and then to chat throughout the engagement session.  Because they love their animals so much (just like my hubby and myself), they chose to start the day off at their home taking a “family portrait!”

Below is a portrait of Tini, who has a “snag tooth.”  How cute!

After we finished up there, we ran over to University of Florida for some casual images on campus for them.  These are taken outside (and inside) Norman Hall.

They then wanted to get some city downtown feel images so we headed to, of course, the magical downtown Gainesville!  We started in the perfect great light, and then waited for it to get a little darker to play with background lights and cigars.  :)

Updates & Reminders

July 3, 2009

Hello everyone!

I wanted to send out a reminder to head over to the Unique Designs blog to enter their contests.  Giovanni has told me you do NOT need to be a bride; anyone can enter.  Today’s freebie give-away is actually a session from me, so I expect LOTS of comments!  :)  You have until SUNDAY to enter as many of these as you want all week.  Don’t be shy– it’s free goodies!

Click on the banner to go visit their blog:

I also wanted to share some links to some of my blogging and website making brides!

Kelli is writing weekly in a blog for her wedding: click here.

Megan made a site for guests to get some general info and registry links:  click here.

Brittany has made a site featuring everything from wedding decor to her dress to her foster puppy Deuce: click here.

Erin and Patrick are also keeping a blog for their October 2010 wedding: click here.

I also just did Brittany and Ryan’s engagement session last weekend, so I figured I’d end this up with an image of their foster pup Deuce as well as one gorgeous sneak peak:
