Friday Inspiration :)

August 28, 2009

I’m hoping to start a new habit of posting a Friday Inspiration post.  Considering how much I see in the industry with trends and ideas… and my own blog stalking, I wanted to start sharing some of my favorite Inspirations.

Today, it’s all about the GRAY.

As you’ve seen from the images of my studio space and my website, I’ve incorporated charcoal into my colors… it’s totally “the new black.”  There is something more modern about it and it also seems to soften up the details and images by not having straight black as an accent.  I also see that for suits and such, using gray allows a lot more of the texture and detail of the suit to stand on its own.

Gray is great paired with just about any color, especially bright ones.  To show some of the ideas, below are some awesome inspiration boards from one of my favorite wedding blogs, Snippet & Ink.  If you want to go to the post about any particular board, just click the image and it will open it up so you can check out some of their details and descriptions (and credits for where the images came from).

She is actively helping in the fundraiser with Dwight’s Fight against ALS.  Click here for more information about that.  What you could do to help easily through her is simply buying bags… she is donating all the profits until September 12th to the foundation.

Really, we have so much fun!  New pictures are always on Facebook first, and sometimes even more than get here…. in fact, if you attended Becky and Austin’s wedding, your photobooth images will ALL be available on Facebook for you to use in web resolution.

“Insights” is something only page owners can see that rates your post content based on interactions (and does a lot more behind the scenes).  Let me zoom in on that for you…

Yes, my posts are 120.2/5 Post Quality.  ;)  Not sure how Facebook figures that all out, but they’re brilliant!

Becky & Austin: Part I

August 24, 2009

Okay so it looks like I’m going to need to break this preview up into… who knows how many posts!  I just have too many favorites to share here.  :)

This post is devoted to preparation, including the adorable little details that she thought so hard about.

The first thing I did was freak out about how amazing Becky’s grandmother’s house was… full of adorable details and with a huge gorgeous preparation room.  SO GLAD we decided it would be best for her to prepare there instead of in a dark room at the church where there wouldn’t have been any great light or details.  Becky’s ring (at least the wedding band) is antique, so I thought it fitting to take images on some antique magnifying glasses.

One of the creative things Becky did for her wedding was to create gorgeous bouquets with silk flowers and feathers.

Becky had created some gorgeous handkerchiefs for her moms and gave them to both the ladies after getting dressed.  It was such a sweet moment!

Then I had time to do a couple portraits before I headed off to take images of the guys and some formals.

Studio Space

August 24, 2009

People have been anxiously asking to see images of  my new studio meeting space…. and really, I don’t blame them.  Actually, they probably weren’t anxious about it at all, but I was anxious for people to see!  :)

This is primarily for meeting with new clients, album consultations, etc. but I’m thinking babies may work well there too.  We’ll see!

I also have to make a comment about my gorgeous canvases.  I just LOVE LOVE LOVE my canvas vendor so much!  These are three vertical 16×24 gallery wrap canvases that are just beautiful.

One of my clients just got in a 16×24 a couple days ago as well and send me this great little note.
