Natasha and Aleem’s two day Indian and Muslim Ceremonies and Reception began with a gorgeous Thursday Mehndi Ceremony. It was held at the Orange County Regional History Center in Orlando, FL. The decor, which was INCREDIBLE, were designed and created by Remmal with Occasions by Shangri-la.
It’s said that whoever breaks their saapati in the Saapatia first ‘rules the household.’ Aleem didn’t even wait for them to finish explaining before JUMPING down!
The Pithi Ceremony was, for me, the highlight of the night. It was a bit of a variation of the traditional ceremony, with a couple pieces – putting a paste on their faces, feeding something ‘sweet’ (candy), tossing up a few petals… just gorgeous to see the joy in people’s faces.
They re-did the Saapatia since Aleem rather cheated the first time! Aleem still won. Natasha stood on top of hers unable to break it!
